Even the most optimistic Dolphins supporters couldn’t have hoped for such an electric start to their franchise’s tale… but as Jamayne Isaako crossed the line for his second try against the Roosters in their inaugural game, Suncorp was positively roaring. Week in, week out, the NRL’s newest team put on performances that emphasized the culture they were building and their respect for their fans and followers. While it was a team-first ethos that shone through all year, there were plenty of deserving individual accolades – Isaako was the league’s leading try-scorer, Tabuai-Fidow became the Dolphins’ first Kangaroos representative, while there was strong representation too in the triumphant Maroons team. There’s no doubting that a strong future lies ahead.
