Nike Scorpion KO 2002 Cerberus Vintage Football Artwork

Bold, unconventional and unmistakably early 2000s, this Cerberus artwork captures the rebellious visual identity of Nike Football's legendary 2002 Scorpion KO Secret Tournament.

Featuring Sylvain Wiltord, Lilian Thuram and Edgar Davids, the fictional Cerberus team brought together three established international football stars known for their athleticism, determination and commanding presence on the pitch.

The artwork features a striking colour scheme, combined with stencil imagery, Nike branding and the distinctive Scorpion KO emblem.

Launched around the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Nike's Secret Tournament imagined an underground competition bringing together some of the world's greatest footballers. Its memorable advertising and graffiti-inspired visual identity helped establish the campaign as a defining moment in early-2000s football marketing.

Produced using spray-painted stencil techniques on paper, this piece displays visible paint texture, overspray, variations in paint density and glossy black detailing. These physical characteristics distinguish it from a conventional printed football poster.

Acquired from a private collection of early-2000s advertising and promotional memorabilia, this artwork is believed to date from the original Scorpion KO campaign period. Its individual production history has not been independently authenticated.

A distinctive collectible for fans of Edgar Davids, European football history, vintage Nike advertising and the crossover between sport and street art.
